  • Name: Lucy Chen

  • Occupation: Senior Fashion DesignerLucy Chen graduated from Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems.Beneath her seemingly analytical and disciplined academic background, however, has always been a deep passion for art. From an early age, she demonstrated a remarkable talent for drawing and developed a keen and distinctive sensitivity to color, line, and space. After graduating from university, rather than following a conventional career path, she chose to follow her passion and entered the world of fashion design, beginning a creative journey of her own. With a strong foundation in drawing, an exceptional sense of aesthetics, and an exacting attention to garment construction and detail, she became a Junior Fashion Designer within just two years. Over the years that followed, she continued to learn, refine her skills, and push her creative boundaries, gradually developing a distinctive design language that combines artistic expression with the character and elegance of the modern woman. She later joined the well-known Singapore fashion brand Love, Bonito, where she continued to develop her expertise in a more established and internationally minded environment. Progressing from a Mid-Level Fashion Designer to a Senior Fashion Designer, she contributed to and launched a number of well-received designs. Through her work, she continuously explored the balance between aesthetics and wearability, carefully considering the relationship between fabric, tailoring, color, and the natural lines of the female form.Yet she has never regarded job titles or professional status as the true measure of success. To her, design is not a tool for proving herself, but a way of communicating with the world. More than external recognition or prestige, she values the pure and quiet sense of fulfillment she finds in the creative process. One of her favorite things to say is:“My passion is drawing. Whenever I pick up a pencil or brush, everything around me seems to slowly become quiet. In that moment, I do not need to follow anyone else’s expectations, nor do I need to prove myself to anyone. I simply need to stay true to the lines and colors in front of me, and to the most genuine feelings within my heart.”She has always believed that truly exceptional design is not simply about creating a beautiful garment. It is about giving the person who wears it a sense of strength and confidence. Fashion may change with time, but the emotions, attitudes, and spirit embodied within a design can transcend trends and remain in people’s memories for years to come. From information systems to fashion design, from rational logic to creative expression, Lucy crossed professional boundaries with courage and gradually built a design world of her own through talent, dedication, and perseverance. For her, this was never simply a career change. It has been a personal journey of staying true to what she loves and continually moving closer to her most authentic self.
